Virtual Pinball Machine

Here’s my Virtual Pinball Machine project that I built in 2015/2016. I later sold it to my cousin when we moved into our new house.

Details:

  • Empty 1980 Williams Blackout pinball cabinet (original)
  • Computer:
    • nVidia GTX 660 2GB
    • Intel i5 4690K
    • Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H motherboard
    • 8GB RAM
    • Toshiba Q-series pro 128GB SSD
  • Virtuapin Plunger kit V2 (Analog plunger, 3-axis nudge sensor, 4 front menu buttons and 2 flippers)
  • LEDWiz to drive LED’s on buttons
  • Displays
    • Insignia NS-40D510NA15 LED HDTV, 40″ 1080p, 60hz, 176° horizontal and vertical viewing angles.
    • Insignia NS-28D310NA15 LED HDTV, 28″ 720p, 60hz, 160° horizontal and vertical viewing angles. 
    • 15″ 4:3 monitor (almost exactly 10″ tall) for $5 at a local surplus store
  • Lepai LP-168HA 2.1 channel Amplifier
  • FaitalPRO 4FE35 4″ full range speakers
  • Dayton Audio DC200-8, 8″ sub
  • Belkin smart power strip
  • Software:

    • Nukelauncher
    • x360ce

Update 11/16/2025: The pinball machine has made its way back to me. My cousin outgrew it and we’re going to rebuild/upgrade it a little and sell it.
